Casati Flock & Fibers, a Lombardy-based company leading the production of high-quality flock, becomes a sponsor of F.C. Como Women, an independent women's football club with no affiliation to a men's team. The club competes in the Serie A eBay championship and is known for its solid experience in sports development and the promotion of women's empowerment. This collaboration unites two entities that share roots, intentions, and unique qualities.

The first common element is their geographical proximity: the club is based in Como, while Casati was founded and has grown over decades in Renate, in the province of Monza and Brianza, just over 20 kilometers from Como. However, the decisive link that gives meaning to this partnership is the shared commitment of F.C. Como Women and Casati Flock & Fibers to celebrating women's determination and promoting their skills, strength, and willpower. The partnership is based on the shared values of fostering female talent and the determination to achieve ambitious goals.

THE REASONS BEHIND THE PARTNERSHIP

"This collaboration with F.C. Como Women goes beyond sponsorship," explain Lorena Rossi Casati, President of Casati Flock & Fibers, and her daughters Beatrice and Eleonora. "We recognized ourselves in their journey of challenging prejudices and their will to transform women's football into an opportunity for all girls, equal to the men's game. We, too, wanted to send a message to all women who thought they could not make it in an industrial world full of machinery and jobs traditionally perceived as male-dominated. We saw in them the same strength and determination that guided our corporate evolution."

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Casati Flock. We share a common vision of female leadership and transforming the perception of women's roles in competitive environments," states Elena Mirandola, CEO of F.C. Como Women. "This sponsorship is a celebration of our commitment to women's empowerment, and we are honored to have a local entrepreneurial reality with great ambitions, entirely led by women, by our side."

WHAT IS FLOCK

Celso Casati discovered flock at the Milan Trade Fair when he observed a French company presenting what seemed like "fabric dust," which had previously been considered waste material at the Perego Weaving Mill where he worked in Renate. He realized it could have economic value and become an essential product for various applications. His son Angelo developed the idea and founded the company in their home basement. Today, Casati Flock & Fibers produces flock—an aggregate of billions of tiny textile fibers, dyed and transformed into a key component used across multiple industries. This velvety texture can be found on hangers, eyeglass cases, jewelry boxes, and car interiors. It is also used in COVID swabs, perfume packaging, marbled plastics, spray snow, dishwashing glove interiors, and even in banknotes and passports for anti-counterfeiting purposes. Casati Flock & Fibers exports globally, from Europe to South America, the Middle East, and Australia, with its flock utilized in luxury packaging and clothing for prestigious brands.

THE MEETING WITH F.C. COMO WOMEN

F.C. Como Women President Stefano Verga played a key role in introducing Casati to Mercury/13, the international group that acquired a majority stake in F.C. Como Women in March 2024. Mercury/13's ambitious goal is to elevate F.C. Como Women to the top of women's football and expand to other top European women's teams in the coming years. In this crucial phase of its corporate history, the Casati family found a natural affinity with Mercury/13's project, sharing the same spirit of challenge and determination to bring women's football to new levels of professionalism and visibility, equal to the men's game—just as Casati aims to do for women in the industrial sector.

"When we decided to embark on this journey alone, with few believers and many doubters, we knew we had to protect our dream. The road has not been easy, but we were determined to succeed. Today, finding an international partner like Mercury/13, which shares our values and has chosen us as partners for the Como Women project, confirms that our vision was not unrealistic. Sometimes, all it takes is someone to support and enhance your strengths to achieve even greater goals."

The collaboration between Casati Flock & Fibers and F.C. Como Women is a tangible demonstration of how, with the right support, dreams can be turned into reality, overcoming criticism and skepticism. CEO Beatrice Casati concludes, "This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate that the strength, determination, and talent of women can overcome any barrier, bringing a message of change and inclusion, both in sports and the business world."

CASATI FLOCK & FIBERS

Casati Flock has been a leader since 1952 in producing flock, a certified textile powder derived from natural or synthetic fibers, available in a wide range of colors with high technical and aesthetic characteristics. Sourced from various textile industry materials, flock is a "magical powder" that enhances the qualities of many products. The company passionately carries on the legacy of visionary entrepreneur Celso Casati, who laid the foundations for over 70 years of growth. Today, the company is led by President Lorena Rossi Casati and her daughter Beatrice Casati, CEO. Together, they have bridged the textile industry and the flock sector, offering partners the opportunity to reuse internal textile waste and foster real circular economy projects. In 2020, the ECOFLOCK® brand was launched as a concrete answer to sustainability, utilizing pre- and post-consumer waste materials, recyclable and biodegradable components, to offer a wide range of sustainable flock products.
