"We must restart with the awareness that the path is the right one and that soon the satisfactions will also come"

The match between Como Women and Inter ends 0-1, valid for the sixth day of the women's Serie A eBay. For Sottili's team, it is the second consecutive defeat after the 3-1 loss against Fiorentina. A match dominated by the Larians who, just like in the match in Florence, failed to capitalise on all the opportunities created during the match.

Inter takes the lead in the 12th minute with a close-range goal by Michela Cambiaghi, who was later named MVP of the match. Despite the Nerazzurre's goal, Como Women pushes and on more than one occasion comes close to the draw goal, both in the first half with headers from Kramzar and Del Estal (both from crosses by Guagni) and in the second half with efforts from Bou Salas and Bergersen.

This is the analysis of Stefano Sottili:

“We played on par with Inter and did not deserve this result at all. I congratulate the girls for what they showed on the field. If we had equalised immediately, I'm sure we would have won the match. The girls must not be discouraged by these results because they have always been up to the task. We must restart with the awareness that the path is the right one and that soon the satisfactions will also come. It's all part of a growth path for a club that has changed and invested a lot: the goal in the future is to be able to close the gap with the top teams in the standings. Now we roll up our sleeves and from Tuesday we start preparing the next one with Sassuolo.”

The post-match words of the captain Giulia Rizzon:

“There is regret in going home without even a point. Lately, we make too many mistakes in defense that cost us dearly. We also know that in this beginning of the championship we have met teams fighting for the top three places: however, I think we have shown that we can compete with everyone.

There have been many changes, both at a club level and in terms of objectives. Many new girls have arrived who still need to adapt. We are in a phase of adaptation and change that requires time”.

This is the analysis from the midfielder Dominika Conc:

“There's a lack of clarity in the goals conceded, but at the same time, we create many chances: I think we have been a bit unlucky lately.”

Now focus on Sassuolo: “We must start getting points, all matches are difficult, but we go with the same respect for everyone and the same focus on ourselves to continue improving and start bringing points home. We are playing well and there is confidence that sooner or later the goals and above all the results will come.”

The next match for Como Women will be against Sassuolo on Sunday, 20th October at 18:00 at the Enzo Ricci Stadium.
