First draw of the season for F.C. Como Women: 1-1 against Sampdoria

"The approach to the match was wrong"

These were the words of Stefano Sottili after the Como Women-Sampdoria match, which ended 1-1. The game, valid for the fourth day of Serie A Femminile eBay, immediately started off on the wrong foot for Como Women, who conceded the lead to Blucerchiate in the 6th minute of play due to an unfortunate own goal by Bergersen. Davide Corti's girls tried to press and in the 13th minute Zamanian challenged Gilardi between the posts, who denied Sampdoria's doubling.

"Beyond the episode of the own goal, we had a flat start. It's the first time this has happened to us, I'm sorry because the intention was completely different. We wanted to give the game a boost, but instead, the exact opposite happened," added the Tuscan coach.

However, the draw came in the 38th minute with Nischler, after a nice overlap on the right wing by Karlernas, who put a tight ball into the area which the South Tyrolean reached, scoring her third goal in Serie A and for the second time being elected MVP of the match. "I am happy for the goal, but not for the result," declared the midfielder. "We wanted more, we wanted the three points, now we have to think about the next game."

In the second half, Sottili's team tried to intensify the game, thanks also to the vitality brought to the midfield by Petzelberger, who came on midway through the second half. The same German player tried to put the Lariane ahead with a shot from outside, which was blocked by Aprile. A few minutes later, Del Estal threatened with a header from a Guagni cross, which went just wide to the left of the opposing goalkeeper.

The result of the match, however, did not change and ended in a draw, with Como Women moving up to four points in the standings. Sottili's team's next commitment will be in Firenze on Saturday 5th October at 12:30 pm against Fiorentina.
