Sarina Bolden is a new F.C. Como Women Player
Sarina Isabel Calpo Bolden is officially a new player for FC Como Women. The American Filipino forward, born in 1996, arrives from Newcastle Jets FC, signing a contract that will bind her to the team until June 30, 2026.
An international-caliber player, Sarina Bolden has gained extraordinary experience in various leagues around the world. After playing for Sandviken in the top Norwegian league, she continued her career with a significant stint in the Taiwanese league, representing Xinbei Hangyuan. She then played in the U.S. with the San Francisco Nighthawks in the Women's Premier Soccer League.
In 2021, she moved to Japan, joining Chifure Elfen Saitama, and in 2022, she made her way to the Australian league, playing for Newcastle Jets FC.
Sarina Bolden caught the attention of the U.S. national team selectors due to her performances in the college league, earning a call-up to the U.S. Under-23 national team camp in 2017. Shortly after, she chose to represent the Philippines women's national team, debuting in the 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup, where she made an immediate impact by scoring the winning goal in their opening match against Jordan.
In 2022, she played a key role in the Philippines' historic qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup, scoring the winning penalty in the Asian Cup quarterfinals against Chinese Taipei. During the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, she was the hero, scoring the decisive goal against New Zealand, securing the Philippines' first-ever victory in the competition.
